For me, it’s a mix of everything: solid technique, enough intensity, a little progression, and leaving with my head clear. The gym doesn’t have to destroy you to make you better. If I can look back at my training log a month later and see that my reps, strength, or control have improved, I know the work is paying off. 💯

Love that mindset. Not every day is going to be a PR day, and forcing one when you're running on empty can backfire. Getting the work done while respecting your recovery is a win too. 🔥

Sometimes it’s just getting in there after a rough day and finishing the workout I planned. Not every session is legendary, and that’s fine. Showing up consistently is part of getting stronger. 💪

I measure it by consistency across the whole week, not just one session. One monster workout means very little if I’m too beat up to train properly for the next three days. I want good performance, manageable fatigue, and steady progress without feeling like every session is a survival test. That approach has worked much better for me.

For leg day, if my squat depth is solid and my knees and hips feel good, I’m leaving happy. No sketchy reps just to flex on the squat rack. 🦵

That’s a good point about rest periods. I’ve noticed that giving myself enough time between heavy sets helps me keep my reps consistent instead of sacrificing performance just to finish faster. 💯

My best workouts are the ones where I stop rushing. I used to fly through sets, cut rest periods short, and wonder why my numbers stalled. Now I take the rest I need, control the eccentric, and focus on the target muscle. My sessions aren't necessarily longer, but the quality is way better.

Showing up when motivation is low. Those sessions count big time. 👊

I’m all about the pump, not gonna lie 😂 But a pump alone doesn’t tell me whether the workout was productive. I look at my logbook, check how my lifts are moving, and pay attention to whether I’m recovering between sessions. Getting a crazy pump feels great, but having actual progress to show for it is even better.

That first set where everything clicks is different. Good setup, good tempo, and the weight moves exactly how you want it to. 😤
