I used to think soreness meant I had a productive workout, but I've changed my mindset. Now I pay more attention to performance, recovery, and whether I can train consistently without constantly feeling beat up.

One thing that helped me was stopping a set when my technique started falling apart instead of trying to squeeze out another couple of reps. It made my training feel much more controlled.

I've learned that ego lifting can set you back much further than taking a lighter day. I'd rather finish a workout feeling like I could have done a little more than force a heavy set with questionable form and risk missing training afterward.

Recovery matters just as much as training. If I'm constantly sore or exhausted, I take that as a sign to look at my sleep, training volume, and rest days instead of simply pushing harder.

I always notice people skipping warm-ups when they're in a hurry.

For me, deadlifts were the biggest learning experience. I could handle the weight, but my technique started breaking down toward the end of the set. I realized that being able to complete a rep doesn't necessarily mean it was a good rep.

Sometimes just dropping the weight is the smartest move.
