I’ve been lifting for years and the best approach I’ve found is boringly simple: get a solid amount of protein every day, eat enough calories for your goal, train hard with progressive overload, and recover. You don’t need to turn every meal into a bodybuilding science experiment. If your strength, measurements, body weight, and gym performance are moving in the right direction over several months, your diet is probably doing its job.
