Same here. A little almond butter or avocado the night before helps, but too much and you just look smooth. Learned that the hard way.

What do you guys do with fats during peak week? I keep mine pretty low until the last day, then add a little in to keep my muscles full.

Yup, keeping it simple is the way. Too many people try last-minute hacks and end up ruining months of prep.

Bro, I made the mistake of trying a new carb source right before a show once. NEVER again. My stomach was a mess. Now, I just stick to foods I know work—white rice, sweet potatoes, and maybe some honey if I need a quick pump.

Yeah, people go overboard with carb depletion. I used to do the whole "zero carbs for four days" thing, but I looked like a skeleton. Now, I just lower them a bit, then refill about 48 hours before stage time. Way better results.

I do a small depletion, but nothing crazy. I tried cutting carbs too much once, and I felt like a zombie all week. Now, I just drop them a little at the start of the week, then gradually bring them back up before show day.

Oh yeah, I learned that lesson the hard way. My first comp, I stopped drinking water too soon, and my muscles just deflated. Now, I keep sodium and water steady until the day before and adjust based on how I look. Anyone else carb deplete before loading?

Same here! People think cutting water completely is the move, but I’ve seen guys do that and look flat as hell. I keep my water intake high and only taper it slightly before stepping on stage.

Man, I used to overcomplicate peak week, but now I keep it simple. I increase my water early in the week and cut it down gradually. Nothing extreme—just enough to get that dry look without feeling like a raisin on stage
