I started taking warm-ups seriously, especially before lower-body days. A few minutes of mobility, some ramp-up sets, and gradually getting into my working weight made a bigger difference than I expected. My first heavy set feels way smoother now, and I’m not trying to go from zero to 100 as soon as I walk into the gym. 🏋️‍♀️

Yep, that one hits home. Once I stopped worrying about what the guy next to me was lifting, I could actually focus on getting better at my own lifts.

Dropping the ego weight was huge. 💯

I switched from chasing the pump to chasing performance. Instead of worrying whether a workout felt brutal, I started asking whether I added a rep, improved my technique, or moved a little more weight. That mindset made progressive overload much easier to stick with.

For me it was fixing my sleep. My workouts didn’t change much, but suddenly I had way more energy for my heavy sets.

That’s something I’ve been noticing too. I’d rather have 60 solid minutes where every set has a purpose than spend two hours in the gym just because I feel like I need to do more.

I used to blast chest twice a week with a ridiculous amount of volume because I thought more work automatically meant more growth. Eventually my shoulders were always beat up and my bench was stuck. I cut the fluff, kept the movements that actually felt good, and started recovering properly between sessions. My workouts got shorter, but my numbers finally started moving again. 🔥

Adding a rest day. Weirdly enough, that’s when my lifts started going up.

My biggest jump came after I started using a double-progression approach. I’d keep the weight the same until I could hit the top of my rep range with clean form, then bump the load up and build again. It sounds basic, but having an actual target every session made my training way less random.
