Love it. Big tub of mono incoming. Thanks all, this saved me a fortune.

You've got it exactly. Put the money you saved toward more food, that'll do more for your physique than any premium creatine ever will.

So the verdict is basically: cheap monohydrate, 5g daily, skip loading, take it whenever, don't cycle. Anything else is a tax on not reading the research.

And don't cycle off it. There's no need. It's not a hormone, you just take 5g a day forever. Stopping just means you slowly desaturate and lose the benefit for no reason.

I take mine with my post-workout shake purely so I don't forget. On rest days just with breakfast. Hasn't mattered which, the strength gains came either way once I was saturated.

Doesn't matter. Creatine works by saturating your muscles over time, it's not an acute pre-workout thing. Take it whenever you'll remember it daily. Consistency is the only timing that counts.

Does timing matter? Pre, post, doesn't matter?

One tip - get a brand with the Creapure label if you want to be sure of quality. It's just German-made monohydrate but you know exactly what you're getting and it's still cheap.

The 'buffered' and 'ester' versions actually performed slightly worse in some studies because part of the dose degrades. So you're paying more for potentially less. Monohydrate is the benchmark everything else is measured against.

I ran HCL for a while because a mate swore by it. Felt identical to mono and cost me double. Went back to mono and noticed precisely nothing. Pure marketing in my experience.
