I’ve found that having a few “non-negotiable” foods makes a cut way easier mentally. You can still hit your protein and calories without completely removing the foods you actually enjoy. What’s the one food you refuse to kick out when you’re leaning down?

Cutting doesn’t have to mean eating the same bland chicken-and-rice combo every day. The goal is to stay in a calorie deficit while still making your diet enjoyable enough to stick with. For some people, that means keeping a daily sweet treat, a burger once in a while, or their favorite breakfast in the rotation.

Greek yogurt with berries is staying no matter how aggressive the cut gets. It’s high protein, fills me up, and still feels like I’m eating something good instead of diet food.

For me it’s definitely eggs at breakfast. I can eat them every day without getting tired of them, and they make hitting my protein target way easier. During a cut, I’d rather adjust portions somewhere else than completely remove a food I genuinely enjoy.

Dark chocolate is my little daily sanity check.

I’m with the people keeping a little treat in the diet. If I completely ban something I love, I end up thinking about it way more than I should. Fitting it into the calories keeps me way more locked in.

Mine is definitely burgers. I used to think cutting meant saying goodbye to them completely, but now I’ll plan one into my week, keep the rest of the day reasonable, and move on. Makes the whole process feel way less restrictive.

Coffee with a little creamer. Small thing, but it makes the morning routine way better.
