Have you tried a fat burner supplement? Did it help or not?

Honestly, Bjorn, fat burners are like the icing on the cake—you still need the actual cake (diet and training).
They might give a slight boost, but they’re no substitute for hard work.

I tried one a couple of years ago, and while it gave me crazy energy, the jitters weren’t worth it.
It’s mostly caffeine anyway. I’d rather just drink black coffee.

Titan9, same! A lot of fat burners are glorified caffeine pills. I prefer green tea for a natural boost.
Does anyone know of non-stimulant options that are worth it?

@ValkyrieLift, yes! CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid) and L-carnitine are popular non-stim options.
I’ve used CLA before, and while it’s subtle, I think it helped a bit when my diet was spot on.

Are fat burners even safe, though?
I’ve read mixed reviews online. Some people swear by them, but others talk about side effects like heart palpitations.

Forge21, that’s a valid concern. Some fat burners have ingredients that can raise your heart rate or blood pressure. Always check the label and avoid anything with sketchy additives. Better safe than sorry!

I’ve used thermogenics in the past.
They helped with appetite suppression and energy, but like @FlexChampion said, they’re just a small piece of the puzzle. The biggest factor was sticking to my calorie deficit.

As a newbie, I’ve been tempted to try fat burners, but this thread is making me rethink it.
What’s a good alternative for someone on a budget?
