Heavy incline press

I recently tweaked my shoulder during a heavy incline press and realized I’ve been neglecting proper warm-up and mobility.
How do you all prevent injuries and maintain long-term joint and muscle health while training hard?

Great topic! I always spend at least 10–15 minutes warming up with dynamic movements and resistance bands. Shoulder circles and rotator cuff activations are my go-to!

Prehab is key. I do mobility drills with a lacrosse ball and foam roller daily. Also, I limit ego lifting—form always wins over weight.

Same here. I used to chase PRs every week, but I ended up with chronic elbow tendonitis. Now I rotate push/pull movements more often and track volume carefully.

Never skip your deload weeks. Your CNS and joints need that break. Also, joint support supplements like MSM and turmeric help me reduce inflammation.

Ladies, we’re just as vulnerable! Hip flexors and knees especially. I always warm up glutes and stabilize ankles before lower body work.

I stretch post-workout religiously. Static holds for 20–30 seconds. Flexibility has made my squats smoother and shoulder health better.

I started yoga twice a week and it’s been a game-changer. Better core strength, posture, and fewer tweaks in the gym.

I’ll admit, I used to laugh at warm-ups. Then I tore my hamstring sprinting into a leg day cold. Lesson learned. Now I do light cycling before training legs.

Respect recovery. I used to think more was more—7 days a week. Now I train 5 days, sleep 7+ hrs, and use heat/ice therapy when needed.
