I’ve been doing push/pull/legs for the past year, and it’s hands-down the most effective split I’ve tried. It lets me hit each muscle group twice a week while still allowing enough recovery time. Anyone else a fan of PPL?

Same here! Push/pull/legs is my go-to. It’s great for building strength and size. I do push on Monday, pull on Tuesday, legs on Wednesday, and then repeat with Thursday-Saturday. Sunday’s my rest day. How do you structure yours, @EthanBrown?

Pretty similar, @FlexQueen. The only difference is that I sometimes swap Saturday for cardio or active recovery if I feel too fatigued. Gotta listen to the body, you know?

I’ve tried PPL, but upper/lower splits work better for me. I train four days a week, and it’s less time-consuming. Plus, it gives me more flexibility to add some conditioning work on off days.

Upper/lower splits are solid, especially if you’re balancing other sports or activities. I used to do them when I played basketball, but now I’m back to full-body workouts. They’re great for beginners or anyone short on time.

I love full-body workouts too, @MasonTaylor. They’re perfect for when I can only get to the gym 3–4 times a week. What’s your typical routine for a full-body day?

I usually do compound lifts to hit multiple muscle groups—like squats, deadlifts, bench press, and rows. Then I’ll throw in some accessory work like bicep curls or lateral raises. It keeps things efficient but effective.

I’ve tried everything from PPL to bro splits, but the upper/lower split seems to work best for me. It’s easier to recover, and I’ve noticed better strength gains. I also adjust volume based on how I’m feeling—less sets if I’m feeling worn out.

I think adjusting volume is so important, @robertjohn. I injured my shoulder last year, and I had to switch to a lower-volume upper/lower split to recover. It’s been a game-changer for me. I used to think more was always better, but now I know that quality beats quantity.
