Started a new job, more sitting, more stress, less sleep. My lifts tanked instantly. Anyone manage to balance work + serious training?

Yep, been there. New job stress wrecked my sleep and my squat dropped almost overnight. Once I locked in a sleep schedule again, strength slowly came back.

Totally normal. More sitting + mental stress = worse recovery. I had to lower volume for a few weeks instead of forcing old numbers.

Honestly, work stress hits harder than people admit. Cortisol spikes + less food timing consistency will kill performance fast. Doesn’t mean you’re losing muscle though.

I switched to early morning lifts when I changed jobs. Felt awful at first, but at least training was done before work drained me.

Same story here. Desk job destroyed my hips and back tightness too. Mobility work + fewer junk sets helped more than grinding through it.

Appreciate all this. Sounds like I need to adjust expectations short-term instead of panicking. Gonna focus on sleep, reduce volume a bit, and ride it out till work stress settles.
