Women & Thyroid Health: The Truth About Long-Term Treatment

Post by CorryXX#44 »

Ladies let’s talk thyroid.
Many of us have been on meds like T4 or T3 for years, especially if we’ve dealt with hypothyroidism or fat loss plateaus. But how safe is long-term use? Does it mess with natural hormone balance or muscle gain?
I’d love to hear from women who’ve been on thyroid meds long-term. How has it affected your training, energy, or body comp? Any side effects or lessons learned?
Let’s help each other stay informed and healthy. 💪💜

Been on T3 for 2 years. Helped with fat loss, but I had to really watch dosage. Too much and I felt wired and tired.

I’m on low-dose T4. It keeps my levels stable. No issues with training, but I must stay consistent with bloodwork.

I noticed more energy after starting thyroid meds, but I also had hair thinning. Adjusting dosage helped.

I cycled off for a few months and my weight shot up fast. Now I stick to it but keep it monitored closely.

Training felt easier when I got my thyroid right. But I avoid stacking it with other fat burners, it’s too much for my heart.

Hashimoto’s here. Meds are a must for me. It’s all about balance lifting, diet and stress.

I use naturally desiccated thyroid. Works better for me than synthetic. But yeah, bloodwork is key!

Love all the feedback, ladies! Really helpful hearing how each of you manage it differently. I’m going to get my bloodwork checked and watch my dosage more closely. I appreciate you all! 💪💜
