For me, the real signs are hitting the top of my target rep range, keeping my technique solid, and finishing my sets without completely falling apart. If the weight feels controlled and I'm recovering well between sessions, I start thinking about a small increase. But if my reps get sloppy or I have to use momentum to finish, I know there's still work to do.
I'm curious how other lifters approach this. Do you increase the weight once you hit your target reps, wait until the movement feels easy, or follow a specific progressive overload plan? What's your personal sign that you're ready to go heavier without sacrificing form?
