When Did the Gym Start Feeling Like a Content Factory?

Post by Charles Harris »

Lately it feels like every rack has a tripod next to it. People more worried about angles than their lifts, blasting bad form for the camera. I’m all for sharing progress, but sometimes it feels like we’re filming a reality show instead of actually training. Anyone else noticing this?

Bro for real. Every squat rack has a ring light now. I miss when people just lifted and bounced.

I don’t mind filming sets, but when it turns into a 10-minute production between curls, that’s when it gets annoying.

What kills me is the bad form getting praised online. New lifters think that stuff is legit.

As long as they’re not in my way, I try to ignore it. Headphones on, tunnel vision.

Some of these guys spend more time checking clips than resting between sets 😂

Coaches and content creators make sense. Random dudes filming partial reps… not so much.

Commercial gyms are basically social media gyms now. Old-school vibes are hard to find.

Facts. I don’t care if someone films progress, just don’t block equipment or teach terrible form for likes. Lift first, film second.
