Balancing Cardio and Muscle How Much Is Too Much?
Balancing Cardio and Muscle How Much Is Too Much?
Trying to keep body fat in check without sacrificing strength or size. Some guys swear by daily steps, others do short HIIT sessions, and some avoid cardio altogether. What’s your go-to approach for staying lean while still making solid gains in the gym?

I just focus on steps now. 8–10k a day keeps me lean without touching my lifts.

That’s kinda where I’m leaning. Hard cardio always seems to mess with my leg days.

HIIT wrecks my recovery if I overdo it. Once or twice a week max, short sessions only.

Honestly, diet does more for leanness than cardio. Cardio just helps clean things up.

I keep cardio post-workout or on rest days. Never before lifting strength stays better that way.

Good call. I tried fasted morning cardio and my lifts definitely took a hit.

Bike or sled work > running for me. Less joint stress, easier to recover from.

When calories are high, I can handle more cardio. When cutting, I dial it back hard.
