I'm curious how you guys handle it. Do you push through muscle burn, or do you call it when something feels off? Whether you're chasing strength or building muscle, knowing when to push and when to back off is part of making progress. What's your personal rule for knowing when enough is enough?
Training Through Pain or Pushing Past Your Limits? Where’s the Line?
Training Through Pain or Pushing Past Your Limits? Where’s the Line?
Every lifter has those days when the last few reps get brutal, your muscles are burning, and you have to fight to finish the set. But there's a difference between normal workout fatigue and pain that could signal an injury. With gym culture full of PRs, intense training clips, and the “no excuses” mindset, it's easy to feel like stopping means you're not working hard enough.

Muscle burn is one thing, sharp pain is another.
I never risk an injury just to finish a set.
