I've tried quite a few supplements over the years, but honestly, only a handful have made a noticeable difference. For me, creatine has probably been the biggest one. Nothing dramatic overnight, but over time I noticed better strength and more consistent training.
I'm curious what other lifters have experienced. Was it creatine, whey, pre-workout, electrolytes, or something else? I'm more interested in supplements that actually fit into a normal training routine rather than expensive products making crazy promises.

Creatine. Simple, affordable, and actually worth taking.

Whey protein made the biggest difference for me because it helped me consistently hit my daily protein target. I don't consider it magic, but having an easy protein source made my nutrition much more consistent.

Definitely creatine. I started taking it daily and didn't notice some crazy overnight transformation, but my training numbers gradually improved and it became one of those basic things I don't really think about anymore.

Pre-workout helped me stay consistent when I was training after long workdays. The energy boost is nice, but I wouldn't say it's responsible for my actual gains.

Honestly, electrolytes. I sweat a ridiculous amount during summer workouts, and once I started paying attention to hydration, my longer sessions felt much better.

Creatine for me too. I wasted money on a bunch of flashy supplements before realizing that the boring basics were probably the most useful.

Whey is probably my most-used supplement. Between work, commuting, and training, sometimes I just don't have the time or appetite to cook another high-protein meal, so having a shake makes it much easier to stay on track.

I would say creatine, but the bigger change came from combining it with better nutrition and actually following a structured program. Supplements helped support the process, but they didn't replace eating enough, training consistently, or getting proper recovery.

For me, the biggest "supplement" change was actually learning not to chase every new product. I used to walk into a supplement store and think I needed pre-workout, BCAAs, mass gainers, fat burners, recovery formulas, and whatever else was being promoted that week. Eventually I simplified everything down to a few basics that fit my goals, focused on my food and training, and started making much better progress. The boring approach ended up working better than the expensive stack.
