Curious what’s working for you guys. Are you adding weight, pushing reps, increasing sets, or just cleaning up your form?

How Are You Progressing Your Lifts Without Burning Yourself Out?
I’ve been trying to get stronger without turning every workout into a beat down. Lately, I’m focusing on small wins—cleaner reps, a few extra reps, and adding weight only when I’m ready. It feels a lot more sustainable than chasing a PR every time I walk into the gym.

I usually add reps before weight. Simple, but it’s been working.

I keep a log on my phone and track every working set. Seeing the numbers slowly climb over a few months is way more motivating than I expected.
Re: How Are You Progressing Your Lifts Without Burning Yourself Out?
Deload weeks have been a game changer for me. I used to feel guilty taking it easy, but sometimes your body just needs a reset before you can push again.
Re: How Are You Progressing Your Lifts Without Burning Yourself Out?
I’m more focused on RPE now. If a set feels like an all-out 10 every time, I know I’m probably making the program harder than it needs to be.
Re: How Are You Progressing Your Lifts Without Burning Yourself Out?
Honestly, sleep and food make a huge difference. There have been weeks where I thought my program stopped working, then realized I was sleeping five hours and barely eating enough.

Same here. I used to chase heavier numbers constantly, but I’ve learned that being able to repeat good performance week after week is much more valuable than having one crazy session.
Re: How Are You Progressing Your Lifts Without Burning Yourself Out?
I’m doing a pretty basic upper/lower split and using double progression. It’s not exciting on paper, but it keeps me consistent and I’m still seeing my main lifts move up.
Re: How Are You Progressing Your Lifts Without Burning Yourself Out?
For me, the biggest improvement came from leaving one or two reps in the tank. I recover way better between sessions now, and I don’t feel completely cooked when I walk into the gym two days later.
Re: How Are You Progressing Your Lifts Without Burning Yourself Out?
Deloads were something I ignored for years. Now if my lifts stall, my sleep gets worse, and everything starts feeling unusually heavy, I’ll take a lighter week instead of forcing another hard training block.
