I’m running an upper/lower split right now and keeping cardio on separate days. Nothing fancy, but it’s probably the most sustainable routine I’ve had.

The best sign for me is when the same workout feels easier than it did a few months ago.

That’s a great point. Sometimes improvement isn’t adding 20 pounds to the bar—it’s doing the same work with better technique and less fatigue.

I’ve also started leaving a rep or two in reserve on most sets. I still train hard, but I’m not turning every set into a survival challenge anymore. My recovery has been way better.

My training goal changed when I realized I wanted to be strong long-term, not just have one crazy month of PRs. Consistency feels boring sometimes, but it works.

For me it’s simple: better lifts, better conditioning, fewer aches, and enough energy left to enjoy the rest of my day. That’s what a good program should give you.

I’ve stopped changing exercises every week just because I saw something new on Instagram. Sticking with a few basics and getting better at them has made my training much more productive.

I’m paying way more attention to recovery now. If I can train hard, sleep well, come back a couple days later, and still perform, that tells me my program is actually sustainable.
