What’s Your Favorite & Why?

Post by FlexQueen »

“I’ve always been fascinated by how different bodybuilding categories bring out unique strengths. From Classic Physique to Men’s Open and Women’s Figure—each has its charm.
What’s your favorite category to compete in or watch, and why?”

I’m all about Classic Physique. It brings aesthetics, symmetry, and posing finesse back into the spotlight. I grew up admiring Frank Zane and Arnold. That’s the era I try to emulate.

Totally with you, Ethan! But for me, Women’s Figure is where it’s at. It’s about muscularity and grace. I love the balance required—powerful but still elegant.

Men’s Open all the way. Mass monsters, baby. The freakier, the better. Nothing gets the crowd going like a giant hitting a lat spread.

I lean toward Bikini. I know it’s often underrated, but it demands discipline, especially with conditioning and stage presence. It’s a whole different beast.

Classic Physique here too. You get the drama of posing routines with physiques that look sculpted, not overblown. Love the golden-era vibes.

Mass monsters FTW like @SteelSpartan said. Watching Big Ramy or Nick Walker hit a crab pose? Just insane. You can’t teach that kind of thickness.

I get that, but Physique is underrated IMO. The board shorts crowd trains just as hard—we’re just not chasing size. It’s about overall aesthetics and conditioning.

Figure and Wellness are my faves. I actually switched from Figure to Wellness last year. Bigger legs, fuller look—it just suits my build better. Loving the journey so far!

Personally, I’m a fan of Wheelchair Bodybuilding. The amount of dedication it takes is next-level. These athletes redefine perseverance.
