Need Advice on My Contest Prep Diet

Post by AndBaker44 »

I'm prepping for my first show in October and started at 242 lbs in late May now holding at 200 lbs for over a month. My current diet is around 200g carbs, 15-20g fat and 230-250g protein. I'm aiming to be 187 lbs on stage, but I'm worried the weight isn’t dropping fast enough. Some say I should carb cycle just looking for honest feedback.

Honestly, your drop from 242 to 200 is solid progress. Holding for a bit can happen it might be time to tweak your macros or cardio. Carb cycling could help, especially if your energy is dipping.

You’re doing great for your first prep, especially dropping 40+ lbs already. Maybe your body just needs a small adjustment. Try lowering carbs slightly or adding fasted cardio a few times a week.

If your look is tightening up, don’t stress the scale too much. But if nothing’s changing, switching up your carb timing or adding a refeed day could spark progress.

That’s a solid transformation so far, respect. With fats that low, your hormones might be taking a hit consider bumping them a bit and see how your body responds.

Appreciate all the feedback definitely going to look into carb cycling, tweaking fats and possibly adding some fasted cardio to break this plateau.
