Light kettlebell halos also helped lube my joints before pushing heavy loads.

Good idea, the gym offers a free induction so I'll book that.

Total beginner - is it better to start with machines or free weights?

First week with a gym membership and I'm a bit lost. Everyone online argues about machines vs free weights. As an absolute beginner, where should I actually start without hurting myself?

Leg curls can help but RDLs are definitely the gold standard accessory for powerlifters.

True. If you only train once/day, daily carb total is more important. Timing is a cherry on top.

Post is king. Muscles are primed to absorb glycogen after training. Skipping post carbs = slower recovery.
