Cheat Meals — Boost or Backfire?
I’ve been sticking to my plan all week, but I usually let myself have one cheat meal to stay sane. Lately I’m wondering though… does that cheat help me stay on track or is it just setting me back? Curious how you guys handle it.

Cheat meals help refill glycogen too if you’re in a big deficit. I actually look stronger in the gym the next day.

Honestly depends on what you’re eating. A pizza with 4k calories? That’s rough. But a burger and fries? No big deal if the rest of your week is clean.

Cheat meals save me from binge eating later. Knowing I’ve got one coming makes me sick to my plan harder.

I call mine “refeed days” instead of cheats. Still controlled, just higher carbs. Helps me stay lean without going nuts.

Cheat meals can backfire if you don’t control portions. I’ve had a “cheat” turn into a cheat weekend before

If you’re hitting macros overall, you’re fine. The problem is when people use cheat meals as an excuse to go all out with zero tracking.
